I have been an interior designer for 20+ years. In 2022, I began the most challenging project of my career.

     I had never been to Italy before but, on my first trip, I   fell in love with it.  And, on a whim, I bought a house!  A small house in a tiny village in Tuscany.  And I am managing its total restoration/remodel from the US.

                                 On my own. Just me.

     I have accomplished (sometimes with many mistakes) finding, purchasing and closing on the home. Hiring contractors to waterproof, earthquake proof (yep, they have earthquakes in Italy), heat, lighting, windows, doors, roof, landscaping, plastering, painting…

     And I want to share that journey with you. The people, the projects, the eye rolls (“we don’t do it that way in Italy.”), the things you can’t find, the delays, the details…

                and the utter joy and excitement of it all.

     And it is nearing completion. Now comes the fun part. Shopping!  I have done a trip to select tile, fixtures, cabinets, etc. and a trip to start filling the house with antiques, furniture, things I love.

               And I am discovering Italy by doing that.

     And with this blog I can share all of the how-to’s, fabulous shops, online shopping, architectural salvage, and roadside treasures where I am finding beautiful things to fill my home.

     I hope this inspires you to pursue a dream. Heck, for sure if I can do it, you can do it!
